Executive Assistant to the President
Job Description
The Charles River Conservancy, a six year old organization with the goal of making the parklands more active and attractive, seeks an Executive Assistant to the President. The Executive Assistant will support the President’s work in fundraising, public relations, advocacy, research, and organizational development.
Responsibilities:
Tasks will vary and will include:
- Liaison to donors and other work associated with fundraising
- Assist with preparing for meetings, attending meetings and taking notes, and ensuring appropriate follow up
- Ensuring President’s timely handling of deadlines
- Undertake special research tasks
- Assist in preparing for board meetings and advisory committee meetings
- Edit newsletters, grant proposals, and other written documents
- Assist in preparation of presentations (including Powerpoint presentations)
- Help prepare President for regular media and marketing opportunities including television shows
- Update President’s calendar
- Work with staff on news, policy development, and activist campaigns
- Other duties as assigned by the President
Some evening and weekend responsibilities at public events required.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a mature interpersonal style, a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a sense of humor. The candidate must exercise excellent judgment and discretion with confidential or sensitive materials, be able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines.
This position requires great versatility in support of the President’s research, public communications, proposal development, and organizational leadership roles. It affords a bird’s-eye-view of environmental advocacy and policy, cultural and sports facility planning, fundraising and non-profit management. This position is appropriate for well organized and motivated person willing to take on both creative and mundane tasks.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Experience working closely with senior management desirable
- Proficient in MS Word, Filemaker, Excel, Powerpoint, I Photo
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent organizational skills critical
- Excellent writing and communications skills
- Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary pays up to low 40’s, commensurate with experience
