The Charles River Parklands: Reclaiming the Legacy
November 9th Symposium at MIT
On November 9, 2002, the Charles River Conservancy and the MIT Press
co-hosted a symposium and recognition luncheon at MIT's Walker Memorial
Hall. Entitled "The Charles River Parklands: Reclaiming the Legacy," the
event attracted over 200 participants. A distinguished panel moderated
by nationally recognized talk show host Christopher Lydon included Pulitzer-Prize-winning
architecture critic Robert Campbell of The Boston Globe and Betsy
Shure Gross of the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs, Commonwealth
of Massachusetts. State Senator Elect Jarrett Barrios sounded the themes
of the day and was joined on the podium by US Representative Michael Capuano.
