for the last leg of his Charles River Swim.

Former Lt. Governor Thomas O'Neill III, Cambridge Mayor Michael
Sullivan and CRC President Renata von Tscharner were joined by the
Eastern Boarder Skate Team at the Halfpipe to Heaven Fundraiser
at the Avalon, benefiting the Charles River Skatepark.

David Armstrong, former Mayor of Louisville, KY visited the Charles
River Skatepark site last week where he and Renata, the CRC President,
discussed plans for the skatepark. (See Boston Herald, "Hub
rolls out plan for $1.1M skateboard park" by Jessica Heslam,
8/17/04.) Later that day, they met with Mayor Menino who pledged
his support for the skatepark.

Boston Cares volunteers recently spent a Saturday removing invasive
plant species on the banks of the moat surrounding the Publick Theatre.
With the beautiful summer weather, now's a great time to get outside
and enjoy the parklands while giving back to the community.

Charles River Conservancy President Renata von Tscharner had a
chance to chat with Governor Romney and DCR Commissioner Kathy Abbott
on Earth Day before they joined hundreds of volunteers to clean
up the Charles River Parklands on the Esplanade.

the Longfellow Bridge. Some people refer to this elegant bridge
as the Salt and Pepper Bridge.

The intersection of Soldiers Field Road and River Street (left
side of closest of the three bridges) and the adjacent stretch of
pathway have persistently been a cause of frustration for pathway
users and are the focus of the newly released Dudley White Pathway
Project.

The Charles River Conservancy is working with Eye Candy Cinema
to create a documentary about the skatepark. In a recent video interview
with Mass Turnpike Authority Chairman Matthew Amorello, he reiterated
his enthusiasm for the skatepark and the Turnpike Authority's commitment
to provide a contribution of site preparation and infrastructure
to this public/private partnership. This picture of the month of
Mr. Amorello and CRC president Renata von Tscharner was taken during
filming.

skateboarders explained their clay skatepark elements to professional
skatepark designer Zach Wormhoudt as Charles River Conservancy President
