RiverSing 2006
The 3rd annual RiverSing took place at the Weeks Bridge on September 21st. As always, the event featured the musical and theatrical talents of Revels, who treated an audience of some 3,000 to a wide-ranging program of both traditional and new music from the U.S. and around the world.
Following the performance, CRC members and supporters continued the celebration at the Weld Boathouse, welcoming the fall with a dinner reception highlighted by speeches by Executive Office of Environmental Affair’s Director of Public Private Partnerships Betsy Shure-Gross, Cambridge Vice Mayor and State Representative Timothy Toomey, Cambridge City Councilor Henrietta Davis, CRC board member Virginia Foote, and Conservancy founder and president Renata von Tscharner.

Skatepark Update
We are now up to $1.18 million raised for the skatepark. While fundraising continues, the young skaters are also doing their part to raise awareness for this project. On September 20th, some 50 young athletes cleaned up the Harborside Skatepark at the Umana Barnes School in East Boston. A special guest included Newton, MA native and top professional skateboarder, Andy McDonald.
On September 27th, the Charles River Skatepark was an honored guest of Stacey Lucchino of the Boston Red Sox. Famous professional skateboarder and MA native P.J. Ladd, was there to throw out the first pitch and the Charles River Skatepark was featured on the Fenway Park Jumbotron!
The next skatepark event will be the Lynn Skatepark Cleanup on Saturday, October 21st at 10:00AM. Click on the following link to learn more about the Charles River Skatepark and to donate to this exciting project.
