Conservancy Volunteers Plant and Prune Parkland TreesYou may have noticed some new trees in the Parklands this month! With funding from the Cambridge Plant and Garden Club and direction from the Cambridge Public Planting Committee, we planted two Elms and two Oaks at the intersections of Pleasant and River Streets with Memorial Drive in Cambridge. Falling temperatures means it’s time for... pruning in the Parklands. Pruning is crucial to ensure that trees stay healthy. We would love to have you join our intrepid cadre of pruners this winter! (Training and equipment provided.) For more information or to schedule an event, please contact our Conservancy Volunteer coordinator Evan Moss at elm@thecharles.org or the telephone number shown in the column to the left. CRC Hires “Grindline” to Build SkateparkThe CRC recently signed a contract with Grindline, a national firm with an unparalleled reputation for skatepark construction. Construction for the Charles River Skatepark will begin in Spring 2008! Don’t forget! There’s still time make your donation, which The Lynch Foundation’s Challenge Grant will match on a five-to-one basis! Mail in your check, or give online by clicking here.
