River Portraits > Spring time at River charles

By Ma. Rosa Aznar, Barcelona, Spain, © 2007 Rosa Aznar, Reprinted with permission.

Spring time at River charles
It blooms in spring
the pulse of a vivacious river.
All along the banks
a green and Flowery carpet embroidered
with white and bright purple crocuses
and wellow daffodils,
alternating sycamore and weeping willows.
Beneath an unclouded blue sky
ramblers, jogger and skaters
walk along the riversides
close to the Longfellow park
from one end to the other
while rowers pass by, following the water flow;
on the ground, robin, ducks and squirrels
try to catch tiny breadcrumbs
playing and running about,
taking to their nests what is left.
At the end of April,a lovely soft breeze
accompanies the sunny afternoon.
It's such a pleasure to reunite so much beauty!!!...
like the graceful willow branches swinging
very close to reach the peaceful water.
